Welcome to the CSCI 1300 Wiki for McCollum's Classes!

"Wiki" is a Hawaiian word for "fast". "Wiki" can be expanded as "What I Know Is", but this is a backronym.

This is a real wiki!  Please edit pages, create pages, leave comments, and enjoy these resources. This wiki can be read by the general public; therefore, do not post anything that would not be appropriate for general public viewing.

With a password anyone can edit any entry on this wiki. The software maintains a History listing every change on a page and the author. The software permits earlier versions to be restored. Any malicious editing is immediately reported to the administrator.

Before you begin using these resources, view some of the videos in the Sidebar for a quick introduction.   Post questions, concerns, or suggestions using the Comment section at the bottom of this page. A private message can be sent using the instructors TU e-mail or by clicking the Contact the owner link at the bottom of each page.

New Items - What have you contributed recently?

New information for Mac users of Word 2008 has been posted. Start with the table of contents. There are many topics found in the Fall '09 - All Classes folder in the sidebar.

Will added a page to discuss the TU Network Diagram. Remember you can upload the assignment multiple times until the deadline.  This will allow you to correct any mistakes you discover after your submission.

Visit the Student Sandbox folder to see a sample file.  You can add pages here to practice formatting pages and adding new features.

Did you know that know your pages of notes can be printed?  Look for this icon at the bottom of the page.  After the assignment is complete, you should print a copy of the notes to use as a study aide. Try saving the page as a PDF.

Each class has a folder where items specific to that class are stored.

New pages created can be added to your class folder.  If the new page would benefit members of all the classes, then add the new page to the folder title Spring 2009 - All Classes. Look on the right side of any page to see these options.

1. Click on Put this page in a folder:

2. Then click on the pull-down menu to the right of the Choose a folder icon.  The choices for the drop-down menu will appear:
